Liraglutide (Saxenda®) works by mimicking the action of GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), which is a natural hormone in the body that helps regulate hunger and food intake. By activating the same pathways as GLP-1, Liraglutide (Saxenda®) can help reduce appetite, leading to a decrease in calorie consumption and, ultimately, weight loss.
Directions for use
Liraglutide (Saxenda®) is administered via injection on a daily basis, and it is typically injected under the skin (subcutaneously).You can inject it into your stomach area (abdomen), upper leg (thigh), or upper arm.The dosage of Liraglutide (Saxenda®) starts at 0.6mg, and it is usually increased weekly until the full daily dose of 3mg is reached.
How long does 1 pen last?
For new patients: 1 pen will last you 17 days. 3 pens will lasts for 32 days.
For returning patients on the full 3mg dose: 1 pen will last you 6 days. 3 pens will last for 18 days.
